The Redbird Run is a special event for children ages 5 and under.
This is a “dash run” that starts at 8:15 a.m. on race day between the one-mile run and the 5K. Named after the daughter of retired Captain Ken Malcom, Mary Beth Malcom (2001-2006), the dash supports the maintenance of playground equipment at Mary Beth’s Place and the Chase Cain Soccer Field. Both are located at the YMCA’s Outdoor Center on Stone Road in Newton County.
Every “dasher” receives a medal and a t-shirt. The shirts come in two sizes, youth small and youth extra small, and are 100% cotton.
The entry fee is $10 per person.
